Day Habilitation

OHO provides effective, comprehensive, and timely services to any and all persons with developmental, physical, and emotional disabilities. We provide qualified, motivated, and caring staff who will strive to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve. We offer a high quality facility to assist individuals we serve in promoting the best environment possible. Our agency offers up to 6 hours a day, Monday - Friday of day habilitation services. Areas of training include but not limited to:

Independent Living

OHO specializes in independent living services that promote self sufficiency despite severe disability. Our goal is to increase independency in apartment living, decrease dependence on family members, decrease the need for attendant services, and improve ability to perform activities of daily living, mobility, communication, and personal/social adjustment. Some examples of training programs include: cooking, money management, mobility, time telling, personal safety, oral hygiene, budgeting, employment seeking, and grooming. Training is also available in other life areas, such as scheduling leisure activities, coordinating transportation, and challenges in personal relationships. The consumer and OHO staff work together to develop an individualized program to help clients manage their daily living needs.

 
Vocational 

OHO offers job development one-on-one on the job site as well as a Business Enterprise Program.  OHO offers services in personal-social adjustment, job quest training, job application training, interviewing skills training, job seeking training, resume development, job placement, job coaching, supported employment, and work adjustment. Paired with community agencies, OHO designs programs that help Texans with disabilities find jobs through vocational rehabilitation. OHO assist people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired and their families to live independently and participate fully in community life, find a high quality job, or receive the training needed to be successful in school and beyond.
